Maggie Amburgey
Small Ruminant Technical Specialist
Profile
Education
Oklahoma State University
Background
Know the saying, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”? Well, it couldn’t be truer for Maggie. On the clock or off, her life revolves around sheep and goats.
At Purina, Maggie’s the go-to gal for questions and training for the sheep and goat sales team. But, some of Maggie’s favorite days are spent on the farm with customers. She offers a warm smile, as well as relatable opinions and advice – you see, she feeds Purina on her farm, too! She and her husband own Amburgey Genetics, where they focus on raising club lambs.
Speaking of club lambs, that’s where Maggie’s passion for livestock ignited. She grew up raising lambs with her family, while also showing on the local, state and national levels. The fire kept burning as she went on to Oklahoma State University to major in animal science and compete on nationally recognized livestock judging team.
