Chad Zehnder, Ph.D.
Field Cattle Consultant
Profile
Education
University of Minnesota
Background
When personal and professional passions align, it makes for a rewarding career. No one knows this better than Chad. On any given day, you could find him filling the mineral feeder on his cow/calf operation in Minnesota, or helping another producer find the right nutrition program for their herd. He’ll treat your cattle like his own.
Chad works closely with Purina dealers and producers from Minnesota to Montana, from pasture to feedyard. After 16 years with Purina, Chad says he’s likely learned just as much from producers as they’ve learned from him. The most rewarding part of his job has been building relationships. In fact, he’s proud to call many of his dealers and producers his friends.
Chad earned his bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. in beef cattle nutrition and management from the University of Minnesota. And he continues to learn every day, using his knowledge to improve health, nutrition and growth for the animals on his farm and farms across the Midwest.
