When you buy a horse, you take it for a test ride. It should be no different with your feed or supplements. Before you make a long-term decision for your horse, test it first. We created the Test R.I.D.E. for this very reason. It’s a supplement and feed evaluation process that will help you determine which nutritional solutions are best for your horse.
When looking at a product, evaluate four key areas: Research, Ingredients, Delivered Amount and Efficacy. It’s our process for every Purina product we take to market.

It’s no exaggeration to say we take the time to get it right. The development of our most recent innovation, Omega Match™, has taken nearly 4 years. Pictured here is a test formula that Dr. Mary Beth Gordon started working on in her kitchen in December 2017, that would eventually become our Omega Match™ ration balancing horse feed.
All of the research and all of the hours that go into our products and services are driven by one factor, our customers’ needs. If our products don’t work for you and your horse, they don’t work for us. Plain and simple.
Process is one thing, but the people that drive it are just as important. Our Equine Nutrition Team is second to none. From our Equine Research Unit Manager to our Technical Support Team, we have the world’s top experts in the field.
Our team’s first goal is helping horses. And we’re here to listen. Our products are designed to answer the needs of today’s horses. We’re only a phone call or email away to help your horses thrive.
To develop the world’s leading equine nutrition solutions, you need a world class nutrition center. Our farm is located in Gray Summit, MO, sprawling over 1200 acres. We work with over 80 horses to collect over a million data points a day.
At our working equine facility at the Purina Animal Nutrition Center, we have a dedicated Exercise Physiology Unit, Palatability Unit and Microbiome facility, all supported by our multi-species Emerging Technologies Lab and Research Feed Manufacturing Unit. Each of these are key to ongoing product development, performance, and quality control.
