ROLLING BILLBOARDS TO GENERATE PUBLIC AWARENESS

Purina Mills trucks will soon become company billboards rolling across the nation’s countryside. Starting implementation in early February, approximately 100 trucks, 70 Purina Mills owned and 30 contracted, will begin featuring the new truck identification showcasing Purina Mills today.

According to the American Trucking Institute, a single truck traveling each day on the nation’s highways generates an average of 11 million visual impressions annually. Thus, phase I of Purina’s rolling billboard program has the potential to achieve 1.1billionfavorable impressions of the company annually among the public.

"We want the public to know who we are and what we do, and this program does it in an innovative and cost efficient manner," said Max Fisher, vice president of public relations and communications. "This program also provides multiple repeat impressions among America’s animal owners and the general public, which drives home a favorable and memorable impression."

A second phase to add more trucks to this program is planned for 2002.
